Man, can I just say - how beautiful is this clip??? These guys and gals are like time-warping retro visions! The street itself looks like it might be Sesame Street but I’m wondering if that’s because it seems as though the sun never goes down in this fictional fifties wonderland. Just super bright sunshine all. the time.
It’s an interesting concept this one and it’s been done many times before. The unfairly upbeat break up song. I suppose this one is at least not doing the actual breaking up via the lyrics but it’s still way too happy for something that is generally a sad time in a person’s life. But that’s the way Ceelo wrote the song and it is catchy and upbeat and they have made a clip to suit that mood perfectly.
The glorious sunshine, the bright colours of everyone’s clothing, the impossible clean and traffic free streets. It all works together to say “how can you cry when the world looks like this? Instead, what we should do is group dance in the streets.”
The video and the song match so perfectly the only problem I have with it is that I should have been in America when I first heard it because this is definitely a summer song.
