Let Me Hear You Scream by Ozzy Osbourne
Oh. Why does this need to exist? Straight off the bat, the song is terrible. And I do mean, terrible. Just close your eyes and listen to it. It sounds like something a bunch of kids with long hair and black clothes who are trying to break into mainstream radio play by being a little bit metal would sing. Well, I suppose that is exactly what’s happening. Except instead of a few punk-ass kids who wouldn’t even know who Black Sabbath are we have a MILLION YEAR OLD man attached to Cher’s hair.
I just don’t understand why directors continue to surround old artists with a young cast. It doesn’t make the artist look cool or hip or young. It makes them look even older than they are. And vice versa, why put Justin Beiber next to all these 20 year old back up dancers? It doesn’t make him appeal to an older demographic, it just makes him look fourteen times as baby-faced than he already does.
OK, so I get they’re not going to hire old guys to be in Ozzy’s back up band (though, like Anvil, it still makes him look older), but why include the girl? The young, hot, virile girl who can actually bend at the knees. Again, I know they’re not going to hire some 45 year old metal mum, but the young chick just further highlights Ozzy’s age (as does his reliance on the microphone stand to be able to keep his balance for most of the clip).
Lastly, why oh why are you trying to make us terrified of Ozzy Osbourne again? After the reality show, no one is scared of Ozzy. Sure he’s done some crazy stuff in the past but all this metal, satanic imagery as though we’re supposed to cower in his rock and roll awesomeness just doesn’t fly. Watch one episode of The Osbournes and anyone would want to have Ozzy as their dad (shortly after, they’d bundle him his in a blanket and ship him off to the nursing home).
Ozzy, why did you make this? Do you not have enough money from your millions of years as a rock god? Cos if it’s for the money, it’s not worth it. And I hope to go it is and the masses haven’t been subjected to this awful creation to satisfy your waning artistic needs.
